ClinSpark version 24.2 is now available

The ClinSpark product team is excited to announce the second release of 2024 - version 24.2. It was completed on Nov 14, 2024 and we have published the technical file artifacts in our service desk for registered users.

The 24.2 release contains a number of improvements that will think will be valuable for all of our customers and end users. Changes cover areas such as sample interval workflows, volunteer management, study form data collection, and API features. Additionally, the release fixes some known bugs. Other areas of our documentation site will provide further detail on certain changes.
The product team also continues to make investments in areas that are not specifically visible to end users, but in ways that support future sustainability and scalability of the application. One example is that ClinSpark now supports MySQL 8, where previously relied on a version of MySQL that can impose challenges with application performance and feature development. Additionally, changes continue to be made in areas to improve code quality and developer experience. These ensure changes in future releases are quicker to implement and of high quality. We regularly evaluate opportunities to utilize newer technologies and better implementation strategies, to improve how the application functions for our growing user base.
The product team also continues to invest in test automation, with 24.2 release technical file including a limited set of test evidence coming from an automated regression test suite. We plan to build on these efforts and deliver more testing evidence in future releases.
Looking ahead, we aim to accelerate speed of delivery and offer more regular releases of ClinSpark to our customers throughout the year. The team is currently planning to deliver another functional release of ClinSpark by the end of 2024. In the coming weeks we hope to share more details about these plans.
Product improvements are made possible through the ongoing and collaborative feedback we receive from our customers. Listening to feedback and understanding the needs of our users is of crucial importance to the entire team. We look forward to these opportunities!
