Collecting Triplicate ECGs and Orthostatic Vital Signs

Overview

This article aims to provide some guidance on setting up forms to collect triplicate ECGs, Orthostatic Vital Signs or other similar medical assessments.

To collect triplicate ECGs or Orthostatic Vital Signs, you may consider the following options.

Three Item Groups within one Form

You can include 3 different Item Groups within the same Form using your ECG integrated device form. You can name each Item Group accordingly, for example, ECG 1, ECG 2, ECG 3.

  • Create the Form in CRF Design > Study Library > Forms > Device Integration > select your device profile.

  • Deselect the “Lock on Save” tickbox, as you will be adding more Item Groups.

  • Rename the first Item Group to represent the first triplicate ECG or VS assessment.

  • Save the Form.

  • Click into the created Form.

  • In the Item Groups section, click Add > Item Group.

  • Select the same Item Group as the first one to copy it along with all of the Parameters.

  • Click back into the Item Group and edit the name to represent the second ECG

  • Repeat for the third assessment.

The data collector will be able to invoke the device for each item group in turn.

Alternatively, you could consider to include individual forms for each ECG in your Activity Plan.
