Email Correspondence Attachments

ClinSpark supports an integration with Sengrid to serve a variety of communication needs with volunteers and study participants. A common question we receive is whether or not ClinSpark can support the ability to add file attachments (for example, a PDF) to e-mail correspondence templates to be included in outbound messages.

By design, ClinSpark does not support this. SendGrid however supports a feature/setting called ‘click tracking’, which uses link-rewriting in order to measure engagement with this kind of content.

For example, if you want to include a link to a PDF in an outbound message, that PDF could be hosted on DropBox, Google Drive, a webserver, etc. Then, when used in / with a template, SendGrid would ‘rewrite it’ before sending.

SendGrid can measure the ‘click’ before sending the user on to the original link. It’s commonly used as a marketing tactic to help senders know who / how many recipients are clicking the link.
