Blinding Item Data

Summary

Values for individual items can be blinded in ClinSpark. This requires establishing a data collection role restriction and also marking the item as blinded. Only users with the established role can collect the data. Then, after data has been collected only users with the established role can view the data within ClinSpark. All other roles will see asterisks instead of the data that was collected.

It is important to note that establishing this blinding requirement on items MUST be done during study setup phase. ClinSpark cannot support ‘retrospective blinding’ scenarios, meaning once the form has been locked and used for data collection the blinding flag becomes disabled and no longer available for use.

The blinding requirement is also carried forward into the Study > Data export as well. If data that has the blinding requirement it exported from Study > Data that data will also be blinded in the report.
