Print Subject Wristband
Role: Clinical Research Coordinator
Updated subject barcodes/wristbands should be printed and applied to the subject as soon as the subject’s corresponding treatment cohort assignment has been fully activated. Subject wristbands provide an additional layer of verification during data collection to ensure that data is being documented against the correct subject.
Print PK Barcodes
Role: PK Lab Staff, Pharmacist
PK container labels can be printed as soon as the activity plan portion of treatment cohort assignments has been activated. This means that label printing can occur before volunteers are associated with the cohort assignments, since PK labels do not typically include volunteer-identifying information. Because of this, PK labels typically do not have to be reprinted if a subject who was originally anticipated to dose becomes ineligible and is replaced by an alternate subject.
Print Safety Lab and Dose Barcodes
Role: Safety Lab Staff
Safety lab and dosing labels/barcodes are typically printed as soon as treatment cohort assignments have been fully activated (both activity plan activation and volunteer activation) since these labels typically include volunteer-identifying information (like date of birth, initials, and gender). This typically occurs early morning on the day of dosing. Note that if a subject who was initially expected to dose becomes ineligible prior to dosing, new safety lab and dosing labels must be printed for the subject who takes their place.
