When ClinSpark was first designed, ‘hooks’ were put into the system to support future integrations with third-party EDC solutions (including Medidata Rave and OpenClinica).

A very sophisticated proof-of-concept real-time integration with Medidata’s Rave Web Services was developed, and show-cased live at a Medidata NEXT meeting in New York, but this was never adopted into production by a customer. The integration would have required very close co-operation and planning between the ClinSpark user and the Rave study build team, as any changes to the Rave study design (e.g. a mid-study change), would have caused synchronisation to cease, and necessitated a matching change the the ClinSpark study design. That integration has been deprecated.

More recently we have conducted a pilot investigation with one customer, on a partial integration with Rave (not all data domains were covered) via batch-upload. Whilst the scope of the pilot was met successfully we have not proceeded to a full integration that is suitable to put into production at this time.

Whilst the hooks still exist, ClinSpark does not currently support EDC integrations.
