Database Schema

The database schema for the Read Replica is the same as the schema for ClinSpark itself. This schema may change slightly with each ClinSpark release.

Customers can request a schema DDL file for a recent ClinSpark version via the service desk portal if desired.

Entity Relationship Diagram

The ClinSpark database schema is challenging to understand. There is no simple visualization we can provide in our documentation that can provide a high level ERD.

That said, customers who utilize the Read Replica can connect SQL tooling of their choosing and create a visual ERD. For example, MySQL Workbench can support this (along with other tooling). Alternately, if a customer requests a schema DDL file, those can be loaded into SQL tooling to create an ERD.

If necessary, our engineering team can also provide example BI visualizations and the SQL behind them to help gain an understanding of certain entity relationships.
