Summary

It is not possible for any ClinSpark user to delete clinical data.

ClinSpark keeps all study data within the primary application database. This database is perpetually backed up, with copies stored offsite on a continuous basis. This means that not only is data never deleted, it is always stored in multiple copies in multiple geographic locations. More details about this process are in our technical architecture documentation.

GDPR & Volunteer Data

ClinSpark application users are unable to delete volunteer records. Volunteer records are never removed from the database, as it would break referential integrity.

Upon request, Foundry Health engineering staff may be capable of GDPR compliant removal of volunteer data. This means:

  • Marking the volunteer as not longer active

  • Updating the first and last name to be something like ‘DELETED’

  • Setting DOB to 01Jan1900

  • Removing email & phone data

With GDPR removal requests, customers must create a service desk support ticket to discuss course of action.
