Adding a new Container
Containers can be created for use with Safety Lab Samples or PK Samples.
When you are adding a new Container, click the “Add” button in the Specimen Containers section:
Code - Codes can be used to define a numeric designation for the Container. They can also be used in Sample barcodes, if Suffixes are used. This is useful when multiple Containers are used for collection; it gives each Container a unique Barcode number.
Description - this is the name of the Container, as it will appear for users in various parts of the system.
Help Text - this is optional text that may provide additional details about the Container.

Editing a Container
You can edit a Container by clicking Action > Edit.
Deleting a Container
If you have added a Container in error, it can deleted via the Action menu. This is only possible before it is used in Sample Paths and / or Lab Panels.
Archiving a Container
If the Container is already in use with Sample Paths or Lab Panels, it can no longer be deleted. But you can archive it via Action > Edit - simply tick the “Archive” tickbox, provide a “Reason for Change” and click “Save”.
Use of Containers
Containers for Site Tests and Panels
The Containers added in General Settings can be used in Administration > Sites > Lab Interfaces to define Container for the Tests and Panels:

Study-specific Containers for Panels
The Panel Containers can also be defined on a per Study basis in Lab > Configure module, when a Panel is edited:

The Test Containers are pulled from the Site Test setup.
Data Collection
When the Sample with defined Container is collected, that Container will be shown next to the Barcode, to instruct the user which Container they need to use for collection.
Sample Processing Path Containers
When you will be creating the Sample Path in Samples > Configure, you will also be able to define Containers for any given Step in the Path.
