Custom Volunteer Questions established here allow for additional information, beyond system-intrinsic volunteer profile questions, to be documented against a volunteer’s profile.

Adding New Volunteer Questions

To add a new Volunteer Question, go to Volunteers > Configure > Volunteer Questions section and click “Add”:

Then you will need to configure your custom question with at least the required fields (marked with an asterisk):

  • Define the “Question” as it will appear to the users on the Volunteer Profile,

  • Define the “Question Type” (available options - string, text, integer, float, date)

  • Define whether the Question is “Required” - when the Question is marked as required, the Recruiter will not be able to save the Volunteer Profile, unless they fill out this information:

Additionally, you can define the optional fields:

  • Define a “Default Answer”

  • Define an “Answer Pattern” using regex rules and a “Question Code” (only editable by Superadmin users)

  • Define “Help Text” that will appear to Recruiters when they are entering the data

  • Define possible “Question Options” (the Question Type should be “string”)

  • Define if the Question is Site-specific.

Editing and Deleting Existing Volunteer Questions

You can edit or delete existing Volunteer Questions by using the “Action” menu next to the desired item:

The Recruiters will be able to answer these configured Questions every time they add/edit a Volunteer Profile:
