Summary
ClinSpark supports a feature called ‘Volunteer Search Functions’ (VSF) which allows the Foundry Health IQVIA team and customers to collaborate on defining complex search queries. These arbitrary search ‘functions’ may be very complex in nature and look across several types of data depending on the business requirement. Once established, they allow users to benefit from the pre-defined logic when performing advanced searches across the volunteer database.

One example supporting this functionality would be sites that track varying levels of tobacco use with their volunteers, and further, may have interest in (or are conducting) tobacco-related clinical trials. Using a search function, recruitment teams can leverage a specific search query to return volunteers that meet certain requirements for “Active Smokers”.
Custom development of search functions
As volunteer & study data vary across customers, so do recruitment workflows. Volunteer search functions therefore in many cases are unique to the customer.
