Study Data
It is not possible for any ClinSpark user to delete clinical data through the user interface.
ClinSpark keeps all study data within the primary application database. This database is perpetually backed up, with copies stored offsite on a continuous basis. This means that not only is data never deleted, it is always stored in multiple copies in multiple geographic locations. More details about this process are in our technical architecture documentation.
GDPR & Volunteer Data
ClinSpark application users are unable to delete volunteer records. Volunteer records are never removed from the database, as it would break referential integrity.
Upon request, Foundry Health engineering staff may be capable of Starting in version 22.3, ClinSpark supports the ability for qualified users to perform a GDPR compliant removal of volunteer data . This means:
Marking the volunteer as not longer active
Updating the first and last name to be something like ‘DELETED’
Setting DOB to 01Jan1900
Removing email & phone data
With GDPR removal requests, customers must create a service desk support ticket to discuss course of actionthrough a ‘privacy remove’ action. More details about this are available in this article.
Customers on a version of ClinSpark prior to 22.3 can reach out via service desk ticket to discuss GDPR requests for removal of volunteer data. Engineering staff may be capable to accommodate, depending on what personal data requires modification on volunteer records, and what outcomes are expected.
